So you are going to be hitting very slightly higher with void, but you're going to be eating more and get much shorter trips with void. Just eating more alone is going to hit hard on your dps. But your defence level when rolling a magic attack is 30% defence level and 70% magic level. 70% of defense against Magic is based on the Magic level, while 30% is based on the Defence level. It's magic level only on monsters, 70/30 on players. I advise using magic on karil. Iban blast, toss in a dds spec if you can. It's hilariously bad how karils coif and ahrims hood are. Karils coif should be on par with robin considering it's 70 defense requirement and degrades. There is nothing wrong with the Ahrim's Hood lol. It's the second best mage hat in the game. When I asked on how to upgrade from my b dhide top some clan members told me to buy arma/karil's. Now, arma is wayyy to expansive for me, so I looked up Karil's. The offensive stats on it are the same as dhide. Melee def stats are worse. It does have better mage def and 2 more range def which both are meh..
